What if we had the ability to reduce and prevent violence, drug abuse, poverty, mental illness and criminal behavior? Utilizing Anthony Biglan’s new book, The Nurture Effect: How the Science of Human Behavior Can Improve Our Lives and Our World, this course will investigate the evolution of behavioral science, how it is changing our lives, and how nurturing environments can increase well-being in almost all areas of society—from early childhood education to social services to corporate practices. Students will explore evidence-based interventions that can prevent many of these afflictions on people and society.
